Subsurface is a short film about my engagement with process and material.

It explores the relationship between breath, body, and clay, and centres on themes of impermanence and release.

The work draws on my experience as a freediver, where the act of holding breath and surrendering control to he ocean becomes a way of being present.

Clay is dug, shaped, and returned, echoing cycles of transformation and return.
